A beautiful functional Keswick school ksia silver tea casket.Made with the greatest of skill with side opening lid.With classical bird and swags with en early green man decoration and decorated to all sides.Blank cartouche to lid.The inside gilded.Scratch signed for J.Nicholson 1892 internally to lid who would have made the piece.The beaded border design acting as the stopper for the lid.A great piece of design.A very worthy addition to any collection.Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1892 and carrying the punched mark of JB for John Birkett whom I believe is the designer of this shape caddy.Birkett was a silversmith by trade and taught at the ksia.Measuring 4.5"h x 4.5"w x 3"d.
