A classic Scottish arts and crafts Silver Iona cross and long chain from the Silversmiths of John McGilvray of Oban…..The Iona cross is beautifully cast and worked and is suspended on an extra long chain of curling Celtic entrelac links…..In excellent original condition…..Has been polished but could be cleaned further…..Although the crosses do come up for sale the long chains are rare survivors…..And although not quite Alexander Ritchie it is a very close second…..Fully and correctly marked and dated 1922….
