A large superbly designed and beautifully made arts and crafts copper mirror with MOP cabs.The copper is deeply repousse worked for the repeating design.The design features 8 cuts outs with MOP cabochons mounted behind to represent honesty seed heads with stem.The copper is affixed to the wooden back with bolts which have been capped with hammered copper domes…..The wooden back is made in 6 sections and joined to prevent any warping.The piece is in excellent condition and shows not only excellent patination to the copper but also to the wooden back that can be seen surrounding the circular worked copper panel.Made by someone who had great skill and who understands the design and function of a mirror.Not identified to a specific guild as yet but my instinct is that’s it’s Scottish.C1900/10
