A rare jewellery casket from the Hayle copper works of J&F Pool.The design is pure glasgow style in secessionist manner with stylised floral decoration.Offset strap decoration to the top complimenting the shaped riveted feet which also follow the lines of the whiplash flower stems.Double hinged.Velvet lined.Locking mechanism with key.Silvered finish which is most likely intentional.It’s a true statement piece with original design and functionality working in harmony.Appears in the trade advertisement 1908 as “jewel casket 6121”
