John Pearson Arts And Crafts Snake On A Flower Head Door Finger Plate

A rare example of John Pearson’s work in the form of a door push finger plate. The finger plate in copper a grotesque creature on flower stem typical of his work with a Serpent type creature looking upwards moving up a stem towards a flower head. His mind must have been full of ideas only really unleashed when he went to his own London studio. The edges again with his typical dashing creating a border.Deep repousse work. One of 5 finger plates from the same property and fresh to the market.I have left the original as found patina.C1895/1900.
