A well made arts and crafts cooper tea caddy in the manner of the Leicester school of art….The caddy worked with repeating planished patterning with wired roped edges the whole mounted with an unusual orange lustred Ruskin cabochon….Unusual to see lustred cabs on pieces….The work is very controlled and balanced….In Excellent condition with a dark patina starting to develop….The marks that are on the surface of the copper will disappear the darker the piece becomes…..The Ruskin showing mild wear to the lustre from decades of palms rubbing it when lifting the cover…..A truly beautiful and functional piece….C1910
