John Rigg

John Rigg was born in 1873 in Keswick.He was the eldest child of 7 born to John and Jane Rigg.His youngest brother Ernest was killed in the great war at the 2nd battle of Arras his name appearing on the Keswick war memorial.John was married and had 4 children.John was a skilled craftsman whose work is sometimes found scratch signed.His great passion in life was fishing and he would often be found on the local river acting as a gillie.His exact dates at the school are not as yet confirmed but we believe he started in the 1890s.He passed away in the Blencathra sanitarium aged 89.
